Description

I'm REEEEEALLY sorry the shading is so sloppy on this, but I'm in a rush because I'm pretty much going home after this and won't get a chance to get online until sometime after the 1st and the contest ENDS on the 1st, so... yeah. ;~;

Anyway, this pretty pony is something I'm trying to win in a contest... I'm not holding my breath, but it would be nice to win her. :heart: Regardless, she was fun to draw.

I WON HER, SHE'S MINE, YAY! :heart: There were so many lovely contest entries, so I was a bit nervous that I wouldn't get her, but I did. *Squee* >

Here's her bio:

Name: Angel Cake (Renamed her  8/25/2016 because it suits her better IMO)
Age: 19 in human years (2-3 years old in horse years probably)
Gender: Female
Species: Pegasus
Bio: Born a very fragile pony, she fell from the clouds where her and her family lived at a young age, and was only barely able to save herself due to sheer willpower by flapping her wings to break her fall. She landed in a bush in front of the house of an elderly mare living in the outskirts of Ponyville, who immediately took pity upon the poor filly and let her into her house to recover from her fall. Unable to recall her name because of her young age and a slight case of amnesia from the impact of her fall, she was given the temporary name of "Angel Cake", because her colors looked very cake-ish, and she had "fallen from the heavens". When she fell, the wind had carried her a great deal away from the general area of her home, so her family was unable to track her, and the mare was unable to locate her parents as well. Eventually, the filly grew on the mare and she adopted her as her daughter and made "Angel Cake" her official name. She taught her everything she knew about growing up as a proper lady. Cooking, cleaning, how to behave, how to dress, etc. She found out she had an affinity for all of these things, but was particularly fond of baking, like most young fillies growing up. Sweets were just so much fun to her, and so delicious as well.

As time passed, the old mare grew more frail with her age. Angel did everything in her power to take care of her, and because of this, she was also given the responsibility of caring for the small tea house that the mare ran. It was busy work, but Angel came through. One day, Angel noticed how incredibly sickly her adopted mother had become, so she ran errands to gather the finest ingredients she could find, and baked the elderly mare a cake decorated with beautiful designs and toppings. She knew that most of it would be left uneaten, but she poured all of her love and devotion into this one thing. When it was finished, she began to cry a little, but didn't understand why. She wasn't sad, and she had just baked the most beautiful cake she had ever baked in her entire life. She blinked back her tears and took it to the mare, who was half awake in her bed. Looking up at Angel, she gave her a fragile smile, happy to see her adopted daughter. Carrying the cake on a platter with her wings, Angel smiled back, feeling a little weak. The mare was delighted when she saw the treat that Angel had brought her, but could not eat much of it, as was predicted. Regardless, it was one of the most delicious cakes she had ever tasted. She nuzzled her daughter and praised her, and lied flat in her bed again, too weak to hold herself up much longer. A smile crossed her face, and at that moment she passed on silently, whispering that she loved her daughter. It occurred to Angel why she had started crying earlier, and she grew weak and began crying again, this time without restraint. Afterwards, she had noticed that, where there was previously a blank flank, a decorated cupcake now adorned her side. She was too occupied earlier to realize that while she was baking, she had obtained her cutie mark. It was because of the love she put into the cake for her mother that she realized what her special talent was.

A year passed, and she kept practicing her baking. She had improved greatly since her mother had died, and she knew that she had become a lady to be proud of. She kept up her mother's hobby of growing specific plants to make her own tea, and combined that with her baking skills to change her mother's tea house into a small cafe and bakery named "Pastel Pastries". It was to become her pride and joy in the years to come.
